Or rather bought a thing.
That’s right I joined the slow-car-fast club and picked up an 02 Miata, manual (of course), with only 46,000 miles.
So clean it could have just rolled off the showroom floor.

Base, nothing fancy that I am aware of.

lol. me and timmy turner were just talking about this. Ill probably spring for a turbo to keep the dd-ability up.

It’s a good start! Shouldn’t be hard to source a Torsen Type-2 for it! Welcome to Miata world! Here’s a quick rundown of what was available for 2002 if you’re curious to see what options yours might have come with.

Fellow ‘02 owner (currently 150k miles, and beat to hell from last week’s hailstorm). You picked up a NICE piece. Drive the hell out of it and enjoy every moment.
Also, watch for the weird ass clutch-shudder in 1st and 2nd gear. It’s a bizarre gremlin that only affected ‘02s. (Seriously, there used to be several threads on miata.net on it.)

Wow this thing looks clean as fuck.

A turbo would be righteous. I feel I should also suggest the awesome BMW N54 . Probably a lot harder to come by and significantly pricier than an LS, but a DI, twin-turbo, I6 would turn any Miata into an entity of pure ecstacy.

Wait till I get pictures of the interior tomorrow. looks like its all brand new.

A cool idea for sure but I’d rather just buy a z4 with that motor and call it a day.

No doubt it would be cheaper and easier to maintain. I’m an absolute sucker for a good I6.

‘01 owner here! I have 100k extra miles but still going strong. Make sure you autocross it. Also, VTECH aint got shit on VVT yo!!

This is also a problem on the '01s. I had my clutch replaced and the shudder is now completely gone. It was real bad before that (original clutch, 140k miles)

If you plan on wintering it (doubt it with having the jeep anyways) then you should definitely get the LSD. It makes the car so much fun in the snow. I have not gotten stuck yet (knock on wood).

no need for more power, but it certainly couldn’t hurt. I would highly recommend sticky tires though, you will notice that way more.

I always just assumed that was me driving a manual poorly!

I live in the desert. I could dd the Ferrari and not have to worry about snow.

I love the idea of daily driving a Ferrari. But I feel like that would get very expensive lol.
